BRAILLE

The Society teaches classes for individuals who would like to learn Braille for reading and/or writing. Some individuals desire familiarity with Braille for identifying items (clothes, food, etc.), while others want to learn it as a complete communication system. When indicated or desired, instruction is also provided on the use of a slate and stylus. Learning the complete Braille system may require up to six months of individual lessons and additional hours of independent practice.

Braille instruction is provided at no charge, and the classes take place at the Society’s offices.
