Orientation and Mobility instruction offers skills and strategies for you to make the most informed decisions when navigating in your home and community. A Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist will meet with you to identify your travel goals and plan lessons toward accomplishing these goals. O&M strategies may include instruction in the use of a long white cane, navigation technology and traveling with a human guide.

Debbie holds a Master’s degree from Northern Illinois University in the field of special education. She is a Certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist and a Certified Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments. Debbie has a diverse background and has worked with school age to adult clients across a range of vision rehabilitation services, including assistive technology instruction.
