| The Saint Louis Zoo and The Sight Collective present: “See Like Me” A day at the Zoo for the blind and visually impaired Friday, September 5 – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00pm FREE EVENT |
| Hear the munch of a giraffe’s snack! Feel the cool splash of a stingray! Listen to the chatter of penguins and puffins! This is your day to explore the Zoo in new and exciting ways! “See Like Me” is a special day at the Saint Louis Zoo celebrating the many unique ways species experience sight—and how animals rely on other senses, too. Guests can explore tactile and sensory activities, enjoy behind-the-scenes animal experiences, and connect with local resources that support the blind, visually impaired, and deaf communities. Throughout the day, visit our Community Resource Fair in The Living World building, featuring organizations that serve and empower those who are blind or visually impaired. Special Behind-the-Scenes Experiences If you are blind or visually impaired, we encourage you to register for this event to enjoy all three behind-the-scenes experiences with our Zoo staff: Experience 1: Giraffe Feeding at Red Rocks Experience 2: Penguin & Puffin Coast Experience 3: Stingrays at Caribbean Cove All Society clients, if you need transportation to the Zoo, please contact Rose at 314-301-7396, or take advantage of the third party transportation reimbursement program. |
