Society, partially through a grant from the East-West Gateway Council of Governments, provides transportation for the blind and visually impaired that includes:
· Medical appointments
· Society programming and training
· Grocery shopping
· Financial appointments
· Pharmacy
· Post office
· Lunch with friends
· Anywhere you need to go
Transportation Specialists Rose Lawhorn and Deborah Chase, will be your drivers and set up all trips. Transportation is offered Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and serves St. Louis City and St. Louis County. There is no fee for the Society van trips, but a suggested contribution of $5 one way or $10 roundtrip will be gratefully accepted to help offset costs. Premium trips in St. Charles or Jefferson County are on a limited basis and have a suggested donation of $20 roundtrip.
